The voices of East Hampshire will be heard loud and clear thanks to a new online petition system. East Hampshire District Council has launched its E-Petitions website to encourage residents to have their say on local issues. The government-backed scheme is designed to engage with communities and encourage people to take a more active role in the decisions that shape their neighbourhoods. E-Petitions is an extension to the petition scheme already available to residents. The council welcomes petitions and recognises that this is one way people can express their concerns. Currently petitions are submitted in paper format and are difficult and time-consuming to compile. By introducing this new technological method the council hopes more people will get involved and make their voices heard. Cllr Sam James, Portfolio Holder for Communications, said: “I am delighted to see that our E-Petitions website is up and running and look forward to seeing how it progresses with interest.” To access E-Petitions visit the E-Petitions pages on the East Hampshire District Council website.
