Alton College and Community First in new, student volunteering initiative
In a new initiative, the College has developed an exciting link with Community First East Hampshire and starting this month, students will be encouraged and supported to take up voluntary work as part of their sixth form education. The scheme will be managed by the Community First Volunteer Centre who will match students with local volunteering opportunities. This offers great benefits to all concerned. The College are delighted to be funding this pilot scheme with Community First East Hampshire and from January, Helen Freeston will be spending one day per week in College helping students identify what they would like to do, signposting them to an opportunity and supporting them with the placement details.
