Phoenix Family Fun Day
The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Station Road Bordon is holding a fund raising event  - a Family Fun Day on Saturday July 3rd from 12 noon until 6.00pm
The event will be held in the Arts Centre and its surrounding grounds with car parking available in the adjacent field.
The day promises fun for all the family and will be opened by the Mayor of Whitehill, Cllr Adam Carew as the first in a fortnight of events during the Bordon & Whitehill Arts Festival, orgainised by The Phoenix. The Arts Festival is supported by Hampshire County Council and Whitehill Town Council.
There will be a variety of craft stalls and displays, circus performers, bouncy castle and face painting, games, book stall and tombola.
In addition there will be performances by Liss Band; the Phoenix Community Choir; Bordon Junior School children presenting Bordon Beat – (junk drumming); and a short play, a comedy entitled Uplifting, by Alan Moorhouse, presented by The Atre Company.
There will be refreshments available including hot dogs and burgers, a licensed bar, real ale, teas, coffees and soft drinks. There will also be a cake stall and candyfloss bar.
The Phoenix has received notification of a large rent increase from next year on the building they occupy, which is owned by the MOD. They are currently in talks with Defence Estates to negotiate terms of a new lease.
Phoenix Director, Jane Dawes says” We are hoping that we will get a lot of support from the local community for our Fun Day, to help raise funds and help support our campaign to afford to stay in our home.”
Admission is free and all are welcome. Phoenix volunteers are busy tidying the grounds and putting up bunting for what will be a really fun day!
