Dumbfest 4 May 2013 - The Phoenix Theatre Bordon (11:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
The Phoenix Theatre, Bordon is proud to welcome back Dumbfest, one of the UK’s largest completely not for profit Music and Comedy festivals.
All the proceeds from the event go to the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
The festival is directed by local businessman Danny Maines, with the philosophy that the event should provide a quality line up from the first to the last act of the day.

Petersfield U3A General Monthly Meeting (2:30 PM - 4:00 PM)
May 13th Maureen Rose: "Royal Dresser" Maureen started working with Norman Hartnell, dress designer to the Queen, on leaving school gradually moving from pattern making to creation. She joined Norman's successor and visited the Queen with him providing swatches for her choosing. She will bring sketches and samples of fabric to illustrate her talk.
2.30 – 4:00pm. Open to all U3A members. £2 for visitors. Petersfield Community Centre, Love Lane, open to all U3A members and visitors are welcome although overall numbers have to be restricted because of the sizes of the rooms.

Community Solutions Launch (2:30 PM - 3:00 PM)
On Wednesday 22nd May at 2.30 pm Damian Hinds MP will be visiting us to launch Community Solutions officially . We would like to invite you to come along and attend the launch. Petersfield U3A Science & Technology (2:00 PM - 3:30 PM)
May 28th Stuart Rees: “Building a Wooden Tall Ship for the 21st Century”
In October 2012, Stuart talked at the General Meeting about his experiences of sailing on the tall ships Lord Nelson and Tenacious, both owned by the Southampton based Jubilee Sailing Trust. Tenacious was built in Southampton by professional ship wrights with the help of an army of volunteers and is the largest wooden tall ship to have been built in the UK (if not in the world) in the 20th century. Stuart was one of the volunteers and will talk about his involvement in the building of this ship including details of the methods and materials used. 2.00 – 3.30 pm. Open to all members, with a charge of £2 to cover costs.

Food Hygiene - Level 2 (WACA) (9:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
Aimed at anyone working in a catering setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled. On completion of the course you will have knowledge in Food Safety Hazards and the Law; Temperature Control; Refrigeration; Cooking; Food Handling; Safe Storage; and Cleaning and Food Premises and Equipment.
A short multiple choice exam will be held at the end of the day.
Date: Friday 31st May
Time: 09:30 - 16:30
Venue: Colebrook Centre, Colebrook Street, Winchester, SO23 9LH
Cost: £50 per person (concessions available, please enquire); the cost is reduced to £45 if you are a WACA member.
